Whether your child needs a bit of a boost or needs to be stretched, has gaps to fill or wants to explore a book or a topic at greater depth, I offer a range of subjects taught at a pace that suits them. Thanks to the internet, this can happen easily, time-efficiently and internationally (time zones permitting) within your own home.
Working online interactively means that we can screen share resources and a whiteboard in the lesson. Children can access optional homework tasks by email or by using links provided. It really is very effective!
If you are home-schooling and want support or a break, or if you are living in a non English-speaking country and wish to improve or maintain your child’s fluent, or nearly fluent English – this is suitable for your child too. Lessons can be as closely based on the National Curriculum used in schools in England as you wish.
Please view the information below for the subjects I offer.

I can focus on a particular area, including grammar, or I can take a more multiskilled approach.

World Religions
Learning about and from world religions. Children write best when they have something to say.

History
Lessons designed to bring the past alive using a range of power points and film clips, with book suggestions, where possible.

Choose from a range of topics that develop skills in planning experiments, making and recording observations, drawing conclusions and making predictions.

I can target an area of misunderstanding or help a child catch up any missed lessons.
A Cross-curricular Approach – using a topic to develop writing skills.
This means that studying the Romans, for example, could include writing an advert for a Roman villa; designing a poster for a day out at the arena or the Roman baths; producing a factual pamphlet to recruit Roman soldiers and making up a diary extract from a legionary stationed at Hadrian’s Wall.
I am happy to discuss, suggest and advise on subjects or topics that would work well for your child’s age and interests. Contact me below if you’d like some advice. Please also view the Frequently Asked Questions page and the Modern Foreign Languages page.
If you wish to explore the range of topics available yourself, National Curriculum topics can be found by clicking here.
International Children – bilingual with English or with nearly fluent English and non English-speaking children, newly arrived in an anglophone country – see slideshow below!
I offer discounts for children of newly arrived refugees. Please view slides 3 and 4 in the slideshow below and contact me below if you think I could teach or support your child.
